The Ossining community and town is made up up large rolling hills, which overlook
the Hudson River. In 1901, Ossining was given its name after prison-made goods
were boycotted, which in turn hurt community businesses. Main Street has since
become the central business center, which began after the Revolutionary War. The
town boasts four great churches, past grand banks, the Squire House; and fantastic
views of the western banks. Teatown Lake Reservation offers plenty to due; with
hiking trails,exhibitions, educational programs and Wildflower Island. The town
is also home to the Croton Aqueduct, which is a major feature in the community. The
aqueduct offers guided tours on certain days so that residents and visitors can see
a part of the commmunity and history that often goes unknown. More attractions in
Ossining include: The Jug Tavern, Sparta Cemetery, Maryknoll, Brandreth Pill Factory,
milestones of history and examples of architectural advancements throughout time.

a median age of just over 37 years. The community has been very
